Described by Paul Mac, editor of AudioMedia, as a 'Future Studio', Out Of Eden is fundamentally different from almost all other music recording studios; it doesn't have a traditional recording / mixing console and tape machine. Instead it should be thought of as a giant workstation.
We use Fairlights' DREAM Console - utilising their QDC™ Technology - which combines a fully automated digital console with Binacle Workstation, meaning that all audio production can be carried out in a floating point 40-bit digital environment (giving us in excess of an astonishing 3000 dB digital headroom) that seamlessly integrates a large, powerful and comprehensive Digidesign Pro Tools|HD 2 Accel System with plug-ins, MIDI keyboards and analogue effects processors within the 96 I/O system that Fairlight provides.
Since no audio flows through the console, the audio and signal path is contained within an 8U rack in the Machine Room thus enabling Out Of Eden to maintain an extraordinarily short signal path.
With gigabytes of on-line hard disks, over 200 tracks of digital audio running simultaneously, sync to picture, networking and backing up in the background, few music tasks are beyond OOE's scope.
